Hello all! I hope you are well and safe. We've hardly had much activity here, and my personal life has just been too busy. So for now, I'm putting the community on hiatus. I don't know how long it's going to be, but I'm thinking when the new season starts I'll open it back up again.

If someone wants to take over the community from me, I'm willing to do that too. I just don't have the bandwidth lately and it seems like all of you are busy as well.

Thanks to all members and participants for the great activity and stories over the years. I hope we will be back here soon.

Hello to all members new and classic! Starting today,

who_contest will be run mainly from Dreamwidth. Contests and announcements will be up to date here, and we hope to get lots of participation. Originally we were hosted at Livejournal, which is now become a mirror site. Yet most of the activity from the mod side will be here at Dreamwidth.

If you are Who writers from Tumblr and Livejournal, you may also enter as well. My only request is that you be a follower of the Tumblr account, or a member or watcher from the Livejournal account. When voting time comes around, I will use either your DW, LJ, or Tumblr user name, which ever you prefer. Though it will be easier if you post directly here to the Dreamwidth community from this point forward. I just want to make sure all members and participants are comfortable and feel welcome!

If you have any questions let me know! This is a pretty laid back community. Our first challenge for the new year will be announced soon!

Hello all,

I have posted the themes for the challenges for the rest of the year. These deadlines are pretty sturdy, so there will be little room for extensions. Please, feel free to start getting those writing muscles flexed now! :)

Participation has been dwindling, which is to be expected between a long break of new episodes and summer, but as autumn approaches I hope we can pick things back up again. The amount of participation will always give me an idea of it's worth keeping this community open, especially after the holiday break. If anyone has any thoughts on this, let me know. If we could improve anything, like themes or deadlines or anything else, I'm open to suggestions.

I apologize for the delay of banners again. I have started on them. Who knew a screaming infant could dictate your free time! I should have those up this week, latest next week.

Well, I logged in today to find that Photobucket has blocked all my images, and I've been using them for over a decade. Sooo.... There will be a short period of time this weekend where I will be finding an alternative place for our banners, promo banners and journal info.

Hello members and watchers!

Given the recent development of LJ servers, I have imported

who_contest to Dreamwidth as a backup. Many of you post your stories directly to the community, so I wanted to make sure these wonderful entries were backed up somewhere else in case something happens to LJ...

I'm not saying anything will, I just wanted to let you know I will be importing this community to dreamwidth to save our stories. All contests will still continue on LJ and be imported to DW. Nothing will change on how the contests will run, just know that your stuff has been saved.

I apologize for letting things go dark here for -- yikes! -- slightly more than a month. I have no real excuse beyond having needed a break myself, but I'm here again and want to crank things back up, hopefully starting July 18.

In order to do that, though, we need reccers. Lots of 'em, honestly, because we're out. As always, everyone, new and old reccers alike, is welcome to rec. All you need to do is select 4-10 stories that haven't been recced before and that meet the comm's fairly basic rules (well-written/formatted, no bashfic, etc.).
